About the Teachers
 
 

Ms. Pipkin

Ms. Pipkin has taught since 2003. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and a Masters in Education, both from the University of Tennessee. Ms. Pipkin has been awarded several grants while teaching including a "Back to School" grant from Dollar General for $5,000 and a Michael Jordan Foundation grant for $2,500.

In her spare time, Ms. Pipkin loves reading, scrapbooking and traveling. She also has a large collection of pandas!

 

Mrs. Gillis

Mrs. Gillis has taught since 1997. She has experience in grades 3, 4, and 5.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology and her Masters in Elementary Education. She has received several honors including being voted Elementary Intern of the Year at Milligan College, and selected to be a member of Pi Gamma Mu Sociology Honors Society. One of her most exciting honors was when she was nominated in 2001 for Disney's Teacher of the Year and made it to round two.

Mrs. Gillis enjoys exercising, reading, walking her dog Chocolate, and spending time with her husband, Brad, and children, Bailey (4 years old) and Channing (1 year).

 

Mrs. Schultz

Mrs. Schultz has taught since  2003. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Masters in Education, both from the University of Tennessee.

Mrs. Schultz is happily married to her husband, Chris, and has a 2 year old son, Matthew and a new baby, Emma.

 

Mrs. Studer

Mrs. Studer has taught since 2002. She has taught grades 3 and 4. Mrs. Studer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She plans to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to work on a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology.

Mrs. Studer enjoys any sporting event, spending time with her nephews, reading traveling, and spending time with her husband. She moved to Knoxville from Middle Tennessee after marrying her husband in July of 2004.

Mrs. Ellis

My name is Chris Ellis and I am honored to be working with you and your child this year.

My husband Scott and I have been married for 19 years. We have three
children: Zach 16, Jake almost 13, and Olivia 8. Our family menagerie also includes 2 dogs, a fish and a turtle. I grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana and have been informed by the class that I have an accent. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. I have experience teaching 1st and 2nd grade Summer School.

Mrs. Campbell

My name is Stacy Campbell.  This is my ninth year of teaching, but my first year at Amherst Elementary.  I grew up in this community and attended Ridgedale Elementary as a child.  I have taught first, third, and fourth grades.  Last year, I was honored to receive Belle Morris teacher of the year and WBIR Educator of the Week for March 2007.  I have been happily married to my husband, Justin for eight years.  We have a Labrador Retriever named Sunny. Teaching is my true calling and I look forward to serving the children of this community for years to come!
