Amherst Mission:

Amherst Elementary will provide students with academic and social skills necessary to become life long learners who will contribute to society by thinking independently as problem solvers.     

Second Grade Vision:

In Second Grade your child will experience a nurturing and exciting environment.  Our greatest joy is to see your child experience the joy of learning by bringing the curriculum to life.  The subjects are integrated in a fun manner with simulated activities giving your child a purpose to learn. By working together we know your child will have a successful year.

                                   Parent Involvement at School

You can be involved in a variety of activities and interests with different time commitments.

                                                                                                   Some examples include:

  1.   joining the PTA and attending meetings

  2.   attending conferences

  3.   volunteering in the classroom

  4.   helping at home (i.e. cutting out materials)

  5.   donating art supplies, class store items, etc.

  6.   sending in school supplies as needed
