Hi, my name is Karen Brown and I am the Art teacher at Amherst.  I would like to let you know a little about myself. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with my BFA in Graphic Design. I then received a fellowship to return to U.T. and get my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction which included  my certification to teach grades 1 through 8. I taught in the classroom, grades 1st and 2nd, for around 13 years. When Knox County added elementary art back into the curriculum I decided to return to school and obtain my endorsement in Art Education grades K-12. This is my 4th year teaching Art for a total of 17 years teaching with Knox County. I love teaching Art and appreciate the opportunity to share my excitement with your children.
