Hello!  My name is Elana Zimmerman, and I am the new library media specialist at Amherst Elementary School.  I am from Bethesda, Maryland, which is a city just outside of Washington, D.C.  I attended the University of Maryland where I majored in elementary education.  After I graduated I worked as a fourth grade teacher.  Then I returned to UMD to earn my masters degree in library science.  I was married on July 14, 2007 to Patrick Zimmerman (we met in 5th grade!) and I moved to Knoxville, TN.  I enjoy playing with our puppy, Camden, spending time outside, and reading (of course!).  We are enjoying living in Knoxville and I am so glad to be at Amherst.  See you in the library!
